Point-and-Shoot Digital Camera
M Series

Creating a Revolutionary Point-And-Shoot Camera
The M Series project was a collaborative effort between the Kodak design team, RAM Industrial Design, and KEK to refresh the look and ergonomics of Kodak's EasyShare point-and-shoot cameras. The design focused on enhancing the camera's aesthetic and user experience, particularly around Kodak's wireless photo-sharing technology. Hand sketches played a crucial role in the initial stages of the design process.

Foam Form Studies
Based on our 2D sketches, quick and low-cost volume models were created to explore the best ergonomic designs. These models were assessed for both visual appeal and hand comfort. Three iterations were made to further refine and narrow down the options.

CAD Development
To refine the form, our designs were built in Solidworks. These 3D models also allowed us to test color schemes and materials on our designs. Two designs were brought this far into development, the one pictured here and a softer, rounded form that can be seen in the appearance models below.

Appearance Models
The final stage of design development at KEK involved creating appearance models for the two selected forms. These models, while non-functional, provided visually accurate representations of the final design. They were used to refine aspects like colors, materials, finishes, and ergonomic details.
